Corporate earnings season shifts into high gear this next week

Earnings Season Next Week The definitive week of Q2 2011 earnings season will be this next week as corporations, including bellwethers, will announce their quarterly financial results. Reporting in the technology sector includes Apple (AAPL), IBM Corporation (IBM), Microsoft (MSFT), Intel (INTC), and VMware (VMW). Reporting in the financial sector includes Bank of America (BAC), The Travelers Companies (TRV), Goldman Sachs (GS), Wells Fargo (WFC), and Morgan Stanley (MS). Reporting in the industrial sector includes General Electric (GE) and Caterpillar (CAT).

Earnings Season Last Week Google (GOOG) reported upbeat financial results in the technology sector. JPMorgan (JPM) reported strong results and Citigroup (C) reported continued improvement in the financial sector.

Economic Data The "Philly Fed", the Business Outlook Survey by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, will be reported. Ongoing coverage of the European and USA sovereign debt and fiscal crises could have an impact on markets.
